Located on London’s historic Mount Street, the redesign of this apartment establishes a dialogue between classical British architecture and contemporary aesthetics. The architectural approach respects the distinctive character of the building, combining traditional elements with clean lines, contemporary interventions, and carefully selected materials.

In the main living areas, ornate ceilings, decorative wall moldings, and characteristic windows remain integral to the apartment’s architectural identity. Herringbone-patterned wooden flooring creates visual continuity, while a restrained palette of neutral tones and contemporary furnishings establishes a balanced composition between classical and modern design.

The living room is organized around an imposing fireplace with a custom-designed natural stone surround, serving as the central architectural feature. Its connection to the dining area enhances functional continuity, while generous windows allow natural light to emphasize the proportions and architectural details of the space.

In the private areas, subtle color variations, soft textiles, and discreet lighting create an atmosphere of calm and comfort. The integration of contemporary furniture alongside carefully selected classical pieces reinforces the timeless character of the residence.

Particular attention is given to the bathroom design, where marble cladding, custom-designed washbasins, and expansive mirrored surfaces create spaces defined by material quality and construction precision. The continuity of materials, transparent partitions, and integrated lighting emphasize the geometry and detailing of the architectural composition.

Mount Street Apartment, a collaboration between TSIGARAS DESIGN and Opsis Design, reflects an architectural approach in which the historical identity of the space is not regarded as a limitation, but as a starting point for creative reinterpretation.
